Wudang Kungfu / Tai Chi Apple App

If you don't have an Apple iPhone or iPad, you might just skip this post. For all those who have one, take a look at todays recommendation.

I take a regular peek in the Appstore to scout for that one app amongst the thousands out there in hope that some kungfu enthusiast takes the time to make an awesome app. One did, and not just anybody. It was master Zhong Yun Long from the Wudang Mountains. I found the app a good while ago but decided that, since I can recommend anything, today was the day to share.

The app actually consists of a collection of videos where master Zhong and his students demonstrate a form. Ranging from qigong exercises to taiji to kungfu, both armed and unarmed. You'll find videos of the famous Wudang horsewhip for example and the Xuan Wu Quan (my own favorite form). There's also a section where you can learn Chinese philosophy, but it's only in Chinese.

So why am I recommending this? I mean, you could just look up the videos on youtube.  Well, it is because the app is beautifully made. It's like a walk through the mountains and everywhere you look, you see somebody in a pose and think: "what's he doing?". Simply click on him and you'll soon find out. It really captures the feel of Wudang and is able to make me a little homesick (even though Wudang is not my home).

The best thing, of coarse, is that good-guy-Zhong made the app completely free!

So here's the link to the app and enjoy your time in Wudang :)
