Run Run Shaw passed away last January 7 at an incredible age of 107. We owe so much to this man. This post is a tribute to him and his legacy.
Yesterday's BBC news stated the following:
Entertainment mogul Run Run Shaw, a major figure in Asia's film industry, has died at the age of 107. The Hong Kong resident
founded Shaw Brothers Studios, which produced almost 1,000 films and
brought the kung fu genre into the mainstream.
As seen in the video above, Shaw made a huge contribution to the kungfu movies as we know them today. He launched Bruce Lee's, Jackie Chan's and Gordon Liu's career, he inspired people like Quentin Tarentino and founded the Companies The Shaw Brothers and TVB who created hundreds of kungfu films.
I saw a lot of his movies myself and searched the web for a good tribute to his legacy. The following video brings back many memories and gives you an idea of all the awesome films he made. If you're a kungfu fanatic, be sure to check them out.
Run Run Shaw, rest in peace.
