Kungfu Christmas

Happy holidays to everyone!! Most of us have the week off to celebrate Christmas and Newyears, so plenty of time surf the internet and the perfect time to gather your friends (and most of your food and drinks) and sit down and watch the TV.

MUSIC
First of all I want to direct you to the video below. It's a song by Bill Murray, Christopher Guest, Gilda Radner and Brian Doyle Murray called "Kung Fu Christmas" and was a Blaxploitation track from the National Lampoon radio show (1973). National Lampoon was a comedy magazine that made parodies of every kind. Just focus on this song for now (make sure you listen to the lyrics), and if you like this kind of comedy make sure you look into the National Lampoon.

FILM
I wasn't sure if I had to recommend Kungfu Panda's Holiday Special since this black and white bear is so popular. In 2012 Kungfu panda's team decided to make a short Christmas story starring our most famous warrior, his shifu and of coarse the Furious Five. Watch it below!

Do you remember the 70's TV series "Kung Fu" with David Carradine? (If not, go to the following link where you can watch all 80 episodes: http://www.primewire.ag/watch-260194-Kung-Fu). What I just found out is that they made a Christmas episode named "Shaolin Christmas." So if you want to be nostalgic but don't want to watch Home Alone for the 20th time, you might want to try this one.

GAMES

Ok, so what else can you do while it's cold outside? Play games! Age of Wushu is a free MMORPG (Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game) set in ancient China. Your avatar starts as a kungfu newbie but will soon learn the skills of the famous Shaolin, Wudang, Emei, and other sects. What makes this game stands out is that it's really accurate regarding fighting styles, surroundings, music, ambience and story. Why play it now? It has a Christmas special of coarse!! Check http://www.ageofwushu.com for more info. Check out the trailer here.

Another game I have to recommend is Dead or Alive 5. Despite the flanderized cupsizes of the female fighters (which attract most people at first I think), Dead or Alive is actually a really good fighting game with a deep fighting system. And one of the few games that bring actual fighting styles such as ba ji quan, xing yi quan, tai chi quan and jeet kune do to the game. It is not as difficult as Virtua Fighter yet it not so simple as Mortal Kombat. Button mashing won't work when you're fighting someone who understands the mechanics. With the new released "Core Fighters" edition it is free to play as well. You only pay if you want to fight with other characters. And of coarse (since it is Christmas) there are Christmas outfits (just a few out of the 200+!!! costumes). Check it out at http://teamninja-studio.com/teamninja/doa5/ and the trailer here.
