Are you tired of practicing your wushu form for the 1000th time and need some inspiration? Look no further. With Jackie Chan as executive producer and Sammo Hung and several upcoming athletes as actors, this movie provides martial art at an authentic level. No wire-fu shenanigans here!
The story starts with Sammo who plays a wushu instructor. He enrolles his two sons in a martial art academy who then befriend 3 other kids. They create a secret group together called Jin Wu Men and then train until they become teenagers. I don't want to spoil the story, but lets say they encounter some dangers and have to fight crime while they train for an upcoming wushu championship.
I have to admit that the story isn't it's forte. This isn't your typical block buster movie and since the actors are wushu athletes and no actual actors, don't expect an emotional drama. The only reason why I would recommend this film is because of the wushu. The taolu (or forms) performed in the film are spot on and you can see that this is the real deal.
Let me know what you think if this one! :)

Trivia:
- The group called "Jin Wu Men" is named after Huo Yuan Jia's school Jing Wu Men. Huo is considered a hero in China for defeating foreign fighters in highly publicised matches at a time when Chinese sovereignty was being eroded by colonisation, foreign concessions, and spheres of influence. Jing Wu means excellent martial arts. They changed it to Jin which means Gold (for all the gold medals they wanted to earn)
- Wenjie Wang (one of the actors) graduated from Sonjiang Wushu College where he was discovered by Antony Szeto, the director of Wushu - The Young Generation. The college became the location of the film.
Hoorah, a wushu movie! Just starting part one on YouTube. Since this movie apparently isn't about the story but about the forms I decided to watch it with Portuguese subtitles. Let's see until what part I make it.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yckj1OnOytk
